Ella es Astrónoma (Production / Curation) - Mexico City - 2009
In 2008/2009 for the international year of astronomy, I (then a postdoc) proposed, produced and curated a photo exhibition for one of the IAU cornerstone projects about "Women in astronomy".
The idea was to show a set of photographies of female (professional) astronomers the young Mexican public to inspire them. We didn't want to be exhaustive but rather picked a diverse group of 9 astronomers and Robin Cerruti (Montréal based photographer) and I decided to have them in a professional yet accessible settings (i.e. at work but not working). It was a great experience and the exhibition encountered a huge success throughout Mexico. The 18 large prints - initially printed for the first Noche De Las Estrellas - were displayed at the Museo de la Luz in Mexico City and then toured many cities and were seen by millions of people.
